TROUGHING BELT TEAR DETECTOR

Type: CTS 7000 CSSR

Should the belt tear in the side wing section, and pieces of the belt are hanging and flapping on the idlers, they will activate the belt tear detector should the pieces be longer than 60-70mm.

The detection of a tear in the side wing and center of the belt is achieved via three profiled plates shaped in the same configuration as the belt, that are mounted underneath the toughing belt. The profiled plates when knocked activate proximity switches.
A drifting piece of belt hanging from the side wing will knock the the trip plates on impact, which will in turn trip and stop the conveyor.

TROUGHING BELT MISALIGNMENT, TEAR DETECTION UNIT

Type: CTS 700 BLT

The CTS 700 series belt misalignment and tear detection-combined units are usually mounted on the conveyor structure. If required two units per conveyor can be fitted, one at the head end and one at the tail end of the conveyor. The units are mounted between 6 and 10 meters from the head and tail pulleys respectively.

MISALIGNMENT DETECTION
Misalignment of the toughing belt is detected via two upright arms, which are connected to an electrical switch via a polycarbonate made coupling mechanism. Should the belt run off, either to the right or to the left, exceeding the end of the idler? roller to the extent that it can cause damage to the belt or the conveyor structure, it will come into contact with one of the upright arms, which will start to tilt in the moving direction of the belt towards the head, thus activating the tripping mechanism. The switch coupling mechanism has been designed to provide an adjustable mechanical trip delay in order to prevent spurious trips from a snaking belt.

TEAR DETECTION
Should a tear occur in the side wing of the belt resulting in a piece of belt hanging down, this tear will be detected by means of a movable arm situated directly under the toughing belt. The tear in the belt coming into contact with the arm will cause it to Swing in the moving direction of the belt, thus activating the tripping mechanism.

RETURN  BELT MISALIGNMENT DETECTOR

Type: CTS 700 RBL

Misalignment Detector Misalignment of the return belt is detected via two downcast arms which are connected to an electrical switch via glass reinforced polycarbonate made coupling mechanism. Should the belt run off, either to the right or to the left, exceeding the end of the idler roller to the extent that it can cause damage to the belt or the conveyor structure, it will come into contact with one of the downcast arms which will start to tilt in the moving direction of the belt towards the tail, thus activating the tripping mechanism which is connected to the electrical switch, which will, in turn, trip and stop the conveyor.

Type: CTS 700 BL

The CTS 700 series belt misalignment detection units are mounted on the conveyor structure. If required two units per conveyor can be fitted, one at the head end and one at the tail end of the conveyor. Misalignment of the troughing belt is detected via two upright arms, which are connected to an electrical switch via a polycarbonate made coupling mechanism. The switch coupling mechanism has been designed to provide an adjustable mechanical trip delay in order to prevent spurious trips from a snaking belt.

Once operated, the switch latches in "off" position and must be manually reset.
The electrical switch consists of 2 change over contacts rated at 500 V 16 Amp which can be connected to the existing electrical system as desired. The belt misalignment switching system consists of an enclosure mounted on a chassis plate that forms a canopy above the enclosure. The enclosure is made of high impact polycarbonate U.V. stabilised and carries a rating of IP65 degree of protection. The total unit is made from mild steel electro plated with zinc.  The bearings used are the "2RS" type, which are sealed on both sides. All mechanical connections between the steel parts and the electrical system are completely isolated via a polycarbonate made coupling system thus maintaining the galvanic isolation of the unit.

Type: CTS 700 BTR

This unit combines two distinct functions mounted on one frame.Belt Tear Detector Should the belt start to tear in the side wing section and pieces of belt are hanging and flapping on the idlers, they will activate the belt tear detector should the pieces be longer than 60 - 70mm.The detection of a tear in the side wing of the belt is achieved via two profiled arms shaped in the same configuration as the belt, and are mounted underneath the toughing belt. Once operated the switch latches in a trip position off and must be manually reset.

TROUGHING BELT MISALIGNMENT, TEAR AND SPEED DETECTION UNIT

BELT SPEED DETECTION
The belt speed detection unit consists of a roller mounted on a beam attached to two swing arms.  The roller is held against the underside of the toughing belt by two stainless steel springs and the rotary speed of the roller is electronically monitored. The termination of the speed unit can be on the left or right-hand side of the unit.  This consists of an enclosure, which is made of high impact polycarbonate UV stabilised and carries a rating of IP65 degree of protection. The CTS 700 BSSM can be placed at the head end of the conveyor and used as a speed deco or placed at the tail end of the conveyor and used as a sequence deco.
